Witchcraft 1st by a mere 54 seconds in the 16 mile Commodore’s Cup

Under gray but otherwise very good sailing conditions, in 10-15 generally south winds, Witchcraft finishes first in the 16 mile Commodore’s Cup race, winning by a mere 54 seconds overSouvenir, and just an additional 4 seconds over third place Real Escape.  Souvenir took line honors by slightly more than 4 minutes over Real Escape.  Dirty Girl crossed the line third about 10 minutes later.

Commodore Dan chose Course 6, using a drop mark for the VSC N.  The Course started at G sailed west of Crab and Valcour Islands in shifty up and down winds, rounding the windward mark at AuSable Point, a beam reach in 12-15 kts to Garden Island Ledge, N in calming winds to around 10-12 kts to the drop mark and finished an upwind 1 mile leg at the starting point.

Participants enjoyed an after race BBQ and awards ceremony at Commodore Dan’s house.

Our next cup race is next Saturday, June 9, the Isle St. Michel.  Dennis Manion is our scheduled O.D.  After race awards ceremony on the upstairs deck at the Turtle.

See you on the water!
